Hillary Can Beat McCain

Is Obama really the only one who can beat back John McCain? That seems to be the conventional wisdom, forming...

COULD HILLARY TAKE FLORIDA ON THE HISPANIC AND WOMEN'S VOTE?

Hillary has shown that she can pull in the 'big states'. Apart from Missouri and maybe Georgia, what is indicative on Obama's side?

If Hillary could take Florida and one of the midwest states, like Ohio or Michigan, she could deliver the Presidency, right (given that PA, NY, and NJ would all likely go along with her)? She could probably bring in Arkansas. It's unclear (to me) what Southern states Barack could bring, as most commentators believe his spectacular win in South Carolina will hardly repeat in the general election ...

The National Polls ... are too broad brush. It's the swing states that matter. Those polls (Quinnipiac) have shown Hillary able to beat both Rudy and McCain, so ... :

Florida Findings

Looking at other possible 2008 presidential matchups in Florida, the Quinnipiac University Swing State Poll finds:
  • Clinton tops McCain 47 - 40 percent, Thompson 52 - 36 percent, Romney 50 - 36 percent and Huckabee 50 - 35 percent;
  • Giuliani bests Obama 45 - 37 percent and Edwards 43 - 39 percent.
By a 52 - 41 percent margin, Florida voters have a favorable opinion of Clinton. ...
