If you don't catch the reference, maybe AS's 'what was about to hit them' song will offer some color:
So imagine a scene like the stump speeches only read about in books, people jostling on snowbanks, climbing fences, trees, even each other in the calm cold that was Maine yesterday to hear and see Barack, for only a few minutes.
As exciting as this is, I have to be consistent in saying I distrust this stuff.
I cannot help but feel that a year from now, people are going to wake up one day - the "magic" may be gone for one reason or another, and say, "What were we thinking?" Then, it will get ugly...
And, that is before we consider the fair-weather friends, like AS, who will likely dump Obama, just as soon as he performs his "dethronment" of "The Clintons". Such friends glom onto Obama because they seemingly cannot tolerate the notion of a mandate, no matter how necessary or how inadequate the other responses, and Barack's other proposals appeal to them as non-polarizing, somehow (that is, when his policy isn't being touted as the same as hers).
