SuperDay+40: 7-10 Hours Remaining

ESTIMATES VARY, ONCE AGAIN

With hours left, about a half-dozen supers have declared today and yesterday for Obama, hardly a waterfall ...

Whether enough supers will declare before the night is up, it is still hard to say.

I show that obama only needs three more supers (based on his 344 total, which is not confirmed by AP yet), but I include all of Edwards's pledged in my projections. Without them, it's another 16 or so, I'd guess. [Obama will likely get about 16 pledged from MT and SD tonight, toward the magic number near 32].

COULD THIS BE THE FIRST NIGHT DEMS HOLD A CONTEST THAT SOMEONE WINS?

It would appear that the Obama campaign is very hopeful of that and signs from the Clinton camp are that campaigning there will stop, even if the candidacy will not, possibly.

NEWS GRAB

Pawlenty will give talking-head to reporters this afternoon, which should keep the night from being all about Obama in the corporate media ....

THE CONVENTION OPTION

Supers that waited for 40 days past when they ought to have declared may have unwittingly set-up Clinton to go to the convention, by "validating" these last elections in a way that they wouldn't have been, had the nomination been sewed up earlier.
