We start the week with McCain going on sixteen weeks with no VP choice. Some "leadership". Tom Ridge threw his hat into the ring (Rendell must hate that).

No idea where the news cycle goes this week.
Whether an electioneering headfake or not, the prospect of bombing Iran, led by the GOP-in-office, their media zippos (Kirstol), and Israel, is pushing National Security agenda, for good or for ill (it could be for good, if there is a solid counter-message, a real effort at transformative politics).
Not surprisingly, the time allocated to candidate debate appears to be limited.
Btw, if you didn't notice the news, the US and ISF are moving to seal the border with Iran further (in Maysan province), these past few weeks.
This is tied up with an effort to prevent a Lebanon Hizb'allah like group operating in Iraq (I think), which comes primarily at the expense of the Sadr "movement". As you can tell, Hizb'allah's recent power grab has caught the eye of a lot of local "talent" (read: Syrian ruling elite).
