Hillary is anointing herself the leader of a movement, in which every vote for her was a prayer ...
Oh...the humanity.
...the hard-nosed, unequivocal decision is that Hillary cannot be trusted with a constitutionally guaranteed/defined role, like the Vice Presidency.
She's abused the nomination process, IMHO.
The party's indulgence - we can say that, now, given tonight's rendering - of Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton has costs that are yet to unfold ...She's abused the nomination process, IMHO.
Indulgence goes beyond the extended race charade. It now includes some kind of special coddling or respect for her "achievement(s)" ... or feelings. The mind boggles.
Update: Carville says it will be done "in good time". As if she gets to choose the timeline. Huh? The timelines are externally imposed, for everyone, if not by fiat then by good judgment and commonsense. It's not like tonight's victory for Obama 'crept up' on anyone (if anything, it was overwhelmingly scripted ...).
All that in light of McCain clearly nipping at the heels of her candidacy, with a need to defend against that? No doubt a speech shooting in the wrong direction(s).
Update2: Clinton can be finessed away, I think. However, no matter whether you believe the best and excuse the worst, the hard-nosed, unequivocal decision is that Hillary cannot be trusted with a constitutionally guaranteed/defined role, like the Vice Presidency. She's abused the nomination process, IMHO. It's kinda sad, because Obama is just the kind of person you'd play the other way, I imagine.
Update3: Carl Bernstein is reporting that Hillary was more subdued than she would have been had her expectations of a huge turnout in Puerto Rico been realized. He's noting that it is Bill Clinton's feelings that require mending; and that Hillary is out to rescue Bill.
My thoughts? No one is bigger than the party. No one.
