Separately, weeks ago Hillary speculated whether some terrorist attack before the election might accrue to the benefit of the GOP.
McCain today staked a claim that no attacks were proof of his policy posture.
Since an attack would nullify McCain's assertion, it's not clear how the electorate would sort it out, in the rub.
