Benedict on Marriage

AS puts up his take (Did he just tell The Pope to 'take a jump'? I fear my gig here is coming to a close ...)

Anyway, there is another response.

The right-wing conservative teaching is 'no marriage for gays'.

What is disturbing is that they have not come to a pastoral teaching that is considerably more nuanced.

It would be enormously beneficial for the rightwing to include a reasoning, "If we were to bless this type of union, this is what it would look like."

To my imagination, this is the best way to bring balance back to the discussion among theologians. For the right to fail to see the need to do so, abandons the field of influence and marginalizes themselves.
