"28 YERAS OF CLINTON DYNASTY"
Is anyone not puking when they hear commentators repeating the "Clinton Era" and "Clinton Dynasty"?
You'd think that Gore never ran, that Kerry was a Clinton puppet, and that Terry McAuliffe didn't eventually get replaced.
The way I see it, the Clinton's had two good years, the first of which they got roundly criticized as inexperienced for trying to do too much; but they reached for the stars, in some ways, including on Defense, where Les Aspin rocked the world at the Pentagon.
The rest was a throwdown with Newt Gingrich, mostly, until Mr. S - he who must not be named - started in with funding a new approach to hobbling liberals, even moderate liberals.
Now, I'm sure others have a different view, but please - with few exceptions, the Clintons have done well for America. One could actually sleep, during the 1990s, knowing that there were adults in the White House, for instance ...
I DOUBT THE GOP WILL ATTACK BILL CLINTON
AS is fairly confident that Obama could sustain the racial innuendo that will be thrown at him. It's quite possible and I'm very hopeful of it (although I don't agree with him that it won't be tried).
With the GOP applauding Vitter, coddling Craig, and embarrassed by Hastert/Foley, somehow I don't think that sexual ethics will be quite the election issue, even moreso if Giuliani takes up the nomination.
THE POLITICS OF FEAR, CONTINUED
AS finds the exaggeration he is looking for, on DailyKos:
A firmer truth:
After that, she appears to have underestimated the appetite for change and the attention that people might pay to the election.
Can you blame her? Rovian politics works, in her lifetime. It brought three elections against the Democrats (one for the father, two for the son), not including by-elections.
So, she was too cautious to start out. Obama, who had nothing to lose, wasn't.
