FRANKLY, I CANNOT IMAGINE PAGILIA ENDORSING ANY WOMAN, CAN YOU?
I haven't read any of Paglia, but her latest dish on Hillary (h/t JMG) doesn't master me with its unbrokered, ten-dollar wordiness.
WILL ANDREW CALL HIS FRIEND, CAMILLE, "VICIOUS" FOR HER REMARKS?
It's amazing, still, just how much "permission" the right-wing attack dogs have given to everyone to just slam whomever.
Paglia seems chillingly unaware that her viewpoint is probably accessible mostly to that one-tenth of one-percent of American women who have steel balls and flat chests and the fifty percent of men who just enjoyed her get-personal cat fight.
BEAUTY OR BRAINS
Hillary's profile is not that much different than others who believe that part of the social pact and the American dream is that, you work hard (put in the effort) and you get ahead (you have some right to expect a reward of some type). And, yeah, they get upset when it seems "unfair", according to that schema - they don't relate much to the buddy-buddy system of getting ahead.
The fact that Hillary might actually have a command of issues that Barack does not (detail stuff that AS calls "mind numbing") escapes Paglia's notice. Like AS, she wants ... Beauty, not brains.
Geraldine Ferraro has a nice video talking about her experience of Hillary. Skip Pagila's self-parody for something real. In fact, listen to a number of the videos. Yes, they are quasi adverts, but if you are media savvy, you can find out more than the cheap thrills of getting off to Paglia will do for your brain.
