Today In the Extended Race Charade

INFORMATION-DRIVEN PROCESSES

Last night I heard James Carville once again conclude that there is nothing to do but to let the race run itself out.

The stories that one reads are that they all want to move together, to avoid taking political heat, or not move at all.

Consider, if you will, what you would do about that, if you had to redesign the process, without cutting out the role of supers altogether ...
That seems to have been the consensus that created the current date/day's politics.

Now Carville is a smart guy, so I honestly might be missing something. But, when there is no way to win with remaining elected delegates (not improbable to win, but impossible to win), what more information can supers get that is paramount? Clearly, the time to "go to the polls", as a super, has to be just as soon as you are the only one left who matters ... and not later.

What's more, the super-delegates do not appear to be exercising independent judgment. The stories that one reads are that they all want to move together, to avoid taking political heat, or not move at all. Consider, if you will, what you would do about that, if you had to redesign the process, without cutting out the role of supers altogether ...

CLINTON WILL QUASI CONCEDE, I BET

She'll endorse and commit, but leave it open-ended, "just in case".
