GOP OBSTRUCTIONISM IN THE 110TH
If everyone had a clue what McConnel's GOP is doing in the Senate this week with regards to the Bush-Cheney FISA demands, the country would be in open revolt, if not revulsion.
The GOP regulars are in no mind to "transform", nor are their constituencies pressuring them to 'get real', either.

It starts from the top. Bush has threatened a veto on any bill - any compromise - that doesn't toe the line on his full immunity for telcos.
Naked power politics, largely to protect their own interest. It's the centerpiece of Bush's entire time in office with the GOP.
