National Review: Oh, Polygamy Shmigamy

Not a peep at The Corner on the unfolding drama about temple sex in Texas.

Nothing about the Arizona group, who live in the boonies and reportedly have control of the local law enforcement.

Perhaps they feel as this reporter, who starts in with, "Mormon polygamy always makes a good story." It's just a story.

The FLDS is the largest-known polygamous sect. Although its membership is not published, figures from the 2000 U.S. Census show roughly 6,000 residents were living in the twin towns of Colorado City, Ariz., and Hildale, Utah. -AP

Maybe it is a lack of moral clarity on the issue? Check out:

A monument stands in a park in the twin cities of Hildale, Utah, and Colorado City, Arizona, commemorating the 263 children taken from their families during a predawn polygamy raid in 1953.

The backlash drove a governor from office and discouraged officials from taking action against the practice of polygamy for half a century.

-CNN, History Repeats Itself

AS presumably doesn't cover the developments because, like others, some think it is a matter of consenting adult behavior. But is it, fully?

Check out, instead, "Costume as Control", something we all know about. But ... What does it mean to grow-up into voluntary surrender of control, using babies at puberty, dress codes, social (collective) punishments, prophetic "teachings", and induced fear of the outside as tools?
