Belief in a second job ought to be the opiate of the masses

McCain, who draws two government pensions (one tax-free) AND a government salary AND gets really, really good government healthcare, responds ... thusly:

Of 80 million U.S. homeowners, 55 million have a mortgage and 51 million of these ``are doing what is necessary -- working a second job, skipping a vacation and managing their budgets,'' McCain said. Homeowners should be required to make a down payment on property purchases to ensure they ``have skin in the game.''-Bloomberg

Nothing wrong with working hard, but ... there IS something wrong with suggesting that the first, best fix to woes of weird housing lending is somehow tied-in with, "Quick, everyone peddle faster."
