Fox "News" - We Are What We Say

In a wide ranging and detailed post on the Fox News charade, Eric Boehlert, asks,

All of which begs the questions, why do Fox News execs spin so furiously whenever they're the ones accused of having a bias? ...Why this elaborate charade about being "fair and balanced"?

I was taken aback that Chris Hitchens apparently needed publicity enough to sit down with Hugh Hewitt. I can't know why he did it, except that perhaps he thought them a receptive audience to his thesis on the Left's fecklessness; but, given Hugh's transgressions in Sullivan's interview and again in Halperin's, how is it that normally well-informed people seem to be so media illiterate?

Anyway, it could be that Harold Ford, Jr. is sealing a certain fate by taking money and air-time from FOX "News".

Last, I've been wondering if anyone else has remarked how FOX seems to put young women on their channel, none of whom come off quite like a Conservative Murphy Brown, juxtaposed with more serious, older men. Of course, there is Greta (does she "count"?), but still, I'm going to keep an eye out for further analysis.
