Turns out that school choice is just satisficing, when it isn't just a masquerade for a return to private pay.
Also turns out that some prominent psychometric guys don't like "no child left behind" - hardly a "Leftist" program or one pushed by the "evil teachers' unions".
(It's a humorous twist of fate that those, whose confidence runs too high about what they are measuring with IQ tests, don't have much confidence in school testing for achievement. There is a rationale that squares the two, no doubt, but it is still funny on the face of it.)
