How does AS select this? This doesn't describe what went on. How much is AS part of the "poison" that he thinks he's laying to rest, one wonders? When you let language go this far from reality, ...
What would have been sly would have been to interrupt Obama when he asked for questions to be answered, using his own words, "Oh, you have questions?".
What would have been fisticuffs would have been to attack Edwards as such: "Well, I think that it is nice that Senator Edwards understands that there are interests vested in the status quo. But, to me, all of what he said sounded better in the original Clinton. Just go back to our first debate."
What would have been "vicious" would have been to go into a usually off-limits area, like attacking someone's spouse or something.
