As the forests of the west burn and fail to recover (60 Minutes video here), we can play a VH1 game of "Where are they now?", with respect to those in the past fifteen years who kept stalling.
Top on the list might be Dick Armey, former House Majority Leader, who is even now proclaiming "freedom's" course runs unencumbered by the 'bad science' of Al Gore. (cf. armeysarmy.com, although it is not safe for your mental health, most likely)
Try to sort this one out (I cannot - it seems 'obvious', but try to understand how lower standards here could have been low enough to keep jobs here and still pollute less ... This is not voodoo-economics, it's tooth-fairy economics.):
