Cherry Hill Gang: No 'Patriot Act' and No Military Tribunals Required

I've been looking over the complaint against the local terrorists here. It looks plain that good 'ol law enforcement will be sufficient. No need for thundering war!-talk, no need for special provisions of 'Patriot' act. Just what many have been saying all along: good old-fashioned law enforcement and a criminal trial.

It's plain that these folks aren't sophisticated. Think of them like the guy from the first World Trade Center bombing who got the group caught because he returned the rental van in order to get his deposit back.

GUNS CONTROL = COUNTERTERRORISM, 2nd Line of Defense

Despite Michelle Malkin possibly wanting to pass out guns to everyone so that we are all "safer", this case is a strong, strong argument for significant arms control. What they were planning on doing, launching an attack on Fort Dix, involved, from what is revealed, shooting up a bunch of soldiers. Problem: they were in possession of a shotgun and .357 caliber revolver, only. Notice paragraph 70:

...said that the source would bring the weapons to New Jersey [AK-47 automatics, etc.]. In response, Dritan Duka [named defendant] said, "It's better, it's better if I get it over here [meaning New Jersey] 'cause we got no licenses."

Whatever their acuity, they did appear to be aware that one cannot shoot-up a major U.S. Army base with a shotgun and a revolver, even if you have six or seven accomplices...

NOT AN EXPRESS SUICIDE MISSION

Although they seemed at a few times to be aware of the risks of getting caught, some comments clearly suggest that they didn't think that this would be a suicide mission, becuase there were plans to do something more next year.

Well, Fort Dix is hardly a soft target. Perhaps knocking out the electricity might have bought some time, but they probably would have been killed or captured. To get to Wrightstown from Cherry Hill, where the group was located, you have to take a little back road (there is only one, maybe two). The State Police, if not the military, could easily throw up highly adequate roadblocks. The base itself is a sprawling campus. The town is so small there is no 'blending in' and the surrounding area is residential and farmland ...

FUMBLING INTO 'JIHAD'

Schoolmate: Alleged radicals were typical teens

Without the 'jihadi' animus and the military target, the story of these guys would look like a bunch of Tennessee locals, blustering about shootin' up the coots that run the local feed store, and going on up into the mountains for some target practice...
