Obama in Prime Time

The Ferraro flap has left me feeling queasy. -AS

Me too.

As a general challenge on the issues of race, is it going to go away?

I'm waiting to hear all of Barack's comments, real-time, from his conference today, rather than snippets from the old-line media or the snippets selected by his campaign blog, before deciding.

Still, Obama appears to have no message of his own on race. I'm not saying it is easy for him to do, but the darting from ignoring race to decrying race is not going to reap benefits or provide a way of handling these issues as they pop up.

Picking up Ferraro's comments seems ... well, where did that come from? It's not like she's stumping for Hillary or something.

Given his "reaction" to his own campaign's action, he clearly hasn't envisioned this as part of a broader message of the campaign. As such, it looks like tit-for-tat campaign politics, viz Powers? Gee thanks.
