CURBING THE WRONG BEHAVIOR ONLY
Getting upset with Hillary in general for "going negative" isn't productive, I don't think. That attitude will only generate the discord that others seek. (AS is stoking that).
If she landed some hits on Obama, fairly or even at little unfairly using "old-style politics", that means he's vulnerable to the same attacks from any one else. Pardon for just pointing it out.
On the other hand, the race is certainly starting to head in the wrong directions with this:
Reporters present claimed that McCain appeared to be offering counsel and advice to Mrs. Clinton in regard to her ongoing campaign against Illinois Senator Barak Obama. Some stated that they appeared to be discussing tactics regarding how to call into question Senator Obama's perceived lack of experience. At one point, according to some present, Clinton appeared to be reassuring McCain that her heated rhetoric against him was just political theater for the electorate. - Unconfirmed Sources
God, let's hope that turns out to be innocuous in the event, because Hillary has been out on the stump with some eye-popping experience lines (see Fallows - is she just trying to suggest that we should match experience-to-experience or really seeking a double-entendre?)
Meanwhile, team Obama might consider creating a "fact hub" on Rezko, starting with this week's end garbage.
Obama camp has to get the facts out there as they are known, not leave it to the press or the pundits. They don't have to answer all the leading questions. They do have to keep the issues from getting blown up past the facts. They cannot ignore it, even if there is no "there" there.
One kossack put it well with a timeline: Rezko was a well known and respected developer. It was during this time that Obama alongside others wrote letters in support of a project for seniors. No quid pro quo has ever come to light. Rezko started to have financial difficulties after these projects. Separately, Rezko lubricated a land-deal that ended up with Obama getting his current house/property, after Rezko had run into problems. Obama didn't get a sweatheart deal in any way that I've seen. He's admitted, however, that he was boneheaded to have gone ahead with the deal for reasons of appearance.
