Romney - Not Electable?

To flip-flop is one thing. But there is a point at which it reaches a point of contradiction so profound that one isn't electable, right?

Comparing these, Romney should have just run as a third-party candidate or something:

I'm not one of those Republicans:



I cannot imagine how G. W. Bush feels about the top ad. (The other is from the Log Cabin Republicans.) Afterall, he ran to restore dignity to the Office of the President, in his own tortured words. Now, he's being opposed on the same basis.
