I'm sorry I've not been able to keep up quite as regularly. All kinds of personal and professional stuff going on.
Meanwhile, do go to see Rufus perform, if you have a chance. We saw him at the Gramercy and it was great fun. I was non-plussed with the 'big' orchestra sounds on the album, but liked it *much* more in concert. Also, Rufus is great on stage, peppering his entre-chant with all kinds of fun stuff. I'll never forget his "...all our LIVES with the Seigers!" throw-away comment at Town Hall a year or two back.
He's also grown to the point where one can really judge that he's on the verge of having an almost fully developed aesthetic of his own. It's no small acheivement, to have the force of talent to be able to do that. His voice is a good as ever. He's lost a bit of boyishness but seems to have settled into a next stage with aplomb (so many just ... don't).
Mom and sis joined him onstage. How sweet is that?
