How Strong the PA Political Machine?

I don't know a lot about PA politics or PA's govenor Ed Rendell.

After Strickland's performance, however, Obamites must be thinking about neutralizing the power of a popular Governor's endorsement.

Rendell has ... er, a money trail. It runs pretty far and wide, so far as I can tell. [No info on his PAC money or if Clinton donated to his campaigns].

He's also tied in with one of the Clinton's biggest fund-raising headaches (that may amount to nothing, ultimately, except fodder ...), it appears.

Also, I'm not sure the current status of this:

The list of Democrats dumping Hsu funds now includes another presidential candidate, Gov. Bill Richardson of New Mexico, along with the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, Sens. Edward Kennedy and John Kerry of Massachusetts, Sen. Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, Reps. Joe Sestak of Pennsylvania and Kirsten Gillibrand of New York, and Al Franken, who is running for the Senate from Minnesota.

Not everybody feels that way, however. Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell said he’s going to keep the $37,866 he received from Hsu for his re-election campaign last year. Rendell said Hsu’s a personal friend, adding “He has never asked me for a bloody thing, which in our business is unusual. - WSJ

Meanwhile, FOX is compiling the black-white comments of Democrats, so that, when they wedge-issue this in the fall, they have cover... (or so it would seem).
