YOUR "SMALL GOVERNMENT" IS HIDING FROM YOU
Apparently, that DoD report I mentioned just this morning, due out today, will be .. stalled in every possible way, short of retrieval or "classification". (h/t Joe Sudbay).
One recalls Rumsfeld asking whether we were capturing or killing more terrorists than were being created, in the madrassas, etc., commissioning a study, then burying the results when they didn't come up as he'd hoped.
No one likes bad press and linking it to "small government conservative" might raise eyebrows. But, when you observe these behaviors over and over again, struggling to maintain a "face", a blame-free zone at almost any cost to the constitution, you wonder how much one can separate the ideology from the actors.
