If you don't believe it, just listen to John McCain's speech from last night, talking about politicians squabbling over the spoils of power.
No way that line is written in a pre-Obama world, even more so from a Republican. No way.
I'll travel across the country in cities and rural areas, in communities of all ethnic backgrounds and income levels, offering my ideas and listening to the concerns and advice of Americans. Americans aren't interested in an election where they are just talked to and not listened to; an election that offers platitudes instead of principles and insults instead of ideas; an election that results -- no matter who wins -- in four years of unkept promises and a government that is just a battleground for the next election. Their patience is at an end for politicians who value ambition over principle, and for partisanship that is less a contest of ideas than an uncivil brawl over the spoils of power. -transcript
Everyone wants to be "Obama".
It's starting to look like an "I'm Tiger Woods" advert, this copycat stuff.
I mean, this is from a guy who calls himself a foot soldier in the Reagan revolution and a "friend" of the Reagan-era revolutionaries ... Can he really pull this off?
Oh, btw, McCains's got way better speech writers than does Hillary Clinton, yes?
What's more, ask yourself, who is the better communicator, Hillary or McCain ...
On the other hand, how much does it matter? Both Dem candidates continue to pull in more primary votes, due to high turnout, than does McCain. Does that mean anything for the General, other than whomever the GOP runs might get creamed, except that they have a personal brand name (like McCain)?
