If you thought Voodoo Economics was bad, one only had to listen to the Yahoo Economics from the GOP candidates last nite. In Yahoo Economics, you extol your reputation as a 'tax cutter', presuming that it is relevant in the post-Bush tax cut era - apparently the GOP-that-wasn't-a-GOP during Bush didn't cut the rates far enough? - and pretending that tax cuts 'pay for themselves', on account of the sheer greatness of free markets.
Yahoo! Cut those tax rates to zero boys, and none of us will have to pay taxes and the economy will double, at least! Git 'er done!
Separately, this is one of my favorite unclear referents, resulting in a near malaprop:
McCain: "... the American people no longer have trust and confidence in us that we will fix anything.
As president, I'll fix them."
Haven't we been "fixed" by the GOP long enough?
(transcript)Meanwhile, Tancredo is my "favorite". He's my model, mean old bastard in the true conservative mode, who you'd expect to give you a lecture on 'how it is', screw you, and then expect you to thank him for being a great 'leader'.
