David Kilcullen

Not to be missed, i-view of David Kilcullen, Aussie advisor to General Petreaus, with Charlie Rose.

(Ignore the part where he gets natural selection confused with evolution. And please, no one write a song, "No more dumb terrorists, anymore".)

Note, as the Bush Presidency comes to a close, sometime after his last wartime appropriation, expect the Right to begin to rapidly change their estimates, by selectively shifting their quoting to 'experts' like Kilcullen regarding how long it should take, shifting from the rhetoric of "six more months" to "all experts agree we need a multi-year commitment", in order to put maximal pressure on the next Presidency:

Now, I said 10 years for the overall campaign. I would suspect that we won't be able to substantially downsize in the next three to five years. You know, we're not talking about a 10-year U.S. (inaudible) combat commitment .

update: watch

Separately, if you missed them here, the weekly casualty lists are up a few days, now.
