It's a shame to see some continue to beat a drum about inflated memberhsip figures at the HRC, which is such an old story and out of whack with how things are done.
Besides, it would appear that the info media world know how to hide and inflate their own figures, in their own way. Are some complicit in the perpetual push to self-promote? Who knows, but here are various publications:
Pulbication | Claimed Readership | Verified Circulation |
---|---|---|
Washington Blade | 66,000 | 33,874 |
Southern Voice | 55,056 | 27,903 |
Ratio claimed to verified: | 1.96 | |
Express South Florida | 37,500 | not released |
Houston Voice | unknown | not released |
New York Blade | 75,000 | not released |
411 Magazine | unkown | not released |
David Atlanta | unkown | not released |
Genre | unkown | not released |
Total claimed readership: 400,000. Does that all add up, somehow? Qien sabe, but it looks like a stretch, to me, amigo.
Oh, and talk about McPublication. Brandon Voss's interview with Enrique shows up at 411, H/X, David Atlanta, at least.
Local editorial independence? The article, "Why I wasn't invited to the forum ...", shows up at front-page of 411, David, SoVoice, WashBlade, NYBlade ...
