The Cowboys (1972), Irving Ravetch (screenplay) Mark Rydell (director)
Wil Andersen [John Wayne]: "Slap some bacon on a biscuit and let's go! We're burnin' daylight!"
Burnin' daylight. I guess I like this one because it reminds me of all the up in the pre-dawn fishing trips I went on as a boy. Anticipation fighting with abject drowsiness.
Clip from the film - not this line, but who doesn't miss Wayne's inimitable delivery?:
I don't know who put this up, but the best line is later, as I recall, as follows: "I've broke my back once, and my hip twice. And on my worst day I could still beat the hell out of you."
Rest of 'em, here.
