Should Petreaus Refuse Partisan Gathering Debrief?

RED LIGHTS ARE FLASHING

CNN is reporting that the WH is asking Republican senators up to the Pentagon tomorrow for a group meeting with General Petreaus via secure vid-link.

If true (I won't believe CNN reporting or trust my ears, until I see it in print), I think that Petreaus has a good case to make to refuse to be part of such a partisan gathering. What do you think? Rove politicization amok, again?

It's one thing to meet with individual Senators and to appear before a joint session or to a committee. It's quite another to have lunch with one political party, yes? As Laurita Doan found out... Others, too?

Update: This meeting turned out not to be exclusive to the GOP. More just above, here.
