I'm not sure I disagree the conclusions, but Freedom is a cornerstone of the war-of-ideas against the self-styled jihadis and what is best called Hiraba, rather than "jihad".
One problem is that, for good or ill - and there can be a range of opinions - the President's team has not amplified or added nuance to the counter-message, fleshed out a broader, global counter-insurgency rhetoric, from the point of view of what RAND calls "cognitive COIN".
