Nation Building and Midwifery

We midwifed their freedom. They chose civil war.

I'd submit that this is what the "internationalist liberals" should be saying (following an erstwhile label given by good-guy Taylor Owen over at Oxblog).

NEOCONS: WIN, OUR HOME RUN (FOR NATIONAL SECURITY); LOSE, YOUR FAULT (FOR ALL HUMANITY)

The neocons cannot say they chose civil war, becuase, had the effort turned in their favor, we can hardly imagine them saying that the Iraqis had won their freedom.

No doubt - NO DOUBT - they would be writing on their resume (as Rumsfeld did when he left the office?) that they were the liberators, not Iraqis.

STRUGGLE WITHIN ISLAM: WE WIN OR LOSE WITH THE IRAQIS

This latest self-serving, neo-con misformulation is part of the militarist misconceptualization from the outset that I've often referred to here (honestly, I can't believe I write here enough to use "often").

Accordingly, while it is only a day or two since I opined that blame-and-run would be the pocket-card for 'Conservatives in the wilderness' (see below), it's going to be a hard card for them to play.
