IN SEARCH OF OBAMA'S LIBERAL-VISION GENE ON ECONOMIC MATTERS
Something is due on this page, shortly, about the Treasury's proposal to eliminate the critical mortgage lending giants, ones that so many Americans depend upon for fair and full access to housing finance.But right now, all I can ask is, "Is there anyone - anyone? - in the Obama economic/finance team who is an A-string progressive/liberal?"
Seriously. I find this proposal so second-class that it is hard to write about it, without counting to ten first.
Perhaps, it is telling that they put it out in the Friday night trash, weeks after it was due. I can't judge the inside politics of it, too much, but one can reject its conclusions on face, without much effort.
