FRC Values Voters Summit, Part I

A bunch of people with no Christian mission much other than to talk about what other people should be doing gathered in Washington this past week, at the D.C. Hilton. They call themselves the Family Research Council.

THE UNAMERICAN ATTACK ON THE COURTS AND JUDICIAL SYSTEM CONTINUES

"Family" continued to be the call word for a host of deceits to the electorate, especially for those watching for (Christian?) deeds not words ...
So far, "gays" are still the enemies of "civilization", rather than the product of it. Folks like Mitt Romney continue to reach for put-down punchlines for the judiciary (and gays) like, "The Court's error I believe was that it focused on adult rights...".

Apart from the standard, knee-jerk need to sanctimoniously announce yourself as "pro-life" (as if that captured the essence of the issue), stoking the unquenchable fires of immigrant hatred is riding high, perhaps even higher than gay-hate.

Newt Gingrich even called for every foreigner to pass a test in American history in order to be allowed to become a citizen. (video from C-Span on demand)

'LIBERAL VALUES' FIGHTING FOR FAMILIES AS GOP GOES SILENT, INACTIVE

"Family" continued to be the call word for a host of deceits to the electorate, especially for those watching for (Christian?) deeds not words from the followers of the FRC. In the last GOP proposed immigration bill, for instance, the principle of "family" was readily jettisoned for the principle for 'best-workers-we-can-find'. When the GOP rhetoric came to criticize the bill, it was for 'amnesty', and if someone said something from the Right about caring for immigrant families, it was surely lost in the great din around "felon", "illegal", "criminal", "disease", and, of course, "amnesty".
