Bush to Christian Nation: Fire the Unbelievers!

A MIDDLE FINGER TO 70 YEARS OF EMPLOYMENT LAW PROGRESS

In a sweeping "Statement Of Administrative Policy" (.pdf), the Christian-lite White House moved to exchange the deeply ingrained principle of American employment based on competence to one based on "conscience".

For most gays and lesbians, such policy statements are due course from Republicanism, but this one may prove especially bitter, coming from an Administration whose Christian moral compass, whose "conscience", included torture, cloaked in the name of the Republic.

EXCHANGING THE WORTH OF WORK FOR RELIGIOUS PURITY IN THE WORKPLACE

For many, if not all, the notion of the American political project includes some manner of working hard to achieve success, of "making it".

Today, the White House, in the hands of the GOP, made it clear that the labor of one's hands is secondary to the religious need of some to deny work, success, promotion, progress, title, and fulfillment:
