The Party of Stupid Forges On

INTRODUCING GENERAL FRANCO

Conservatism has often been called (by intellectuals) the “stupid party”. But I think it is more precise to say that healthy conservatism from Burke onwards has been the party of “facts trump theories”. -Patrick Appel, sounding a bit like he might have fought for Franco, while sitting in for AS, who is on much overdue vacation, not having had any that I've noted since his honeymoon in August.

Healthy conservatism? Oh, my.

Is that like Ed Meese pornography: we know it when we see it?

HERMENUTICAL IRREGULARS

p.s. Is it possible for "facts" to be arranged into a coherent political party philosophy without an ideology of sorts (even an incoherent one), excepting nihilism, maybe?
